Measuring for a Square Set Window
WHAT IS A SQUARE SET WINDOW?
A Square Set is a window without an architrave or recess. Your window will be inline with the wall, rather than set back by a recess.
HOW WILL MY BLIND FIT?
Since you don't have a recess in your window, your blind will mount to the outside of your window. To ensure that there no light seeps through the sides of your blind, you need to make sure that your blind is wider than your window.
The top rail or roller tube will sit above the window, so that the blind doesn't block any light when fully opened.
The length of your blind is a matter of personal taste. You want your blind to at least reach the bottom of the window so that no light seeps through.
HOW TO MEASURE
We recommend adding 80mm to the total width of your window (i.e. 40mm to each side). That way, your blind will sufficiently overlap your window and block light.
When measuring the drop, we also recommend adding 60mm to the top of your window. This starting point is where you will be installing your bracket.
When providing measurements, we require the total measurement of your blind. In summary:
- Measure the width of your blind in two different places. (We recommend adding 80mm to the total width of your window).
- Measure the drop of your blind in two different places. (We recommend starting 60mm above the top of your window).
- Provide the largest of the two measurements.
